Title: Waxed Paper
Date: 2025
Material: Plaster
Description:
Waxed Paper is a material research project exploring how different materials can be combined through experimental processes to reveal new qualities, characteristics, and possibilities for application.

The project investigates paper that is folded back onto itself and stitched along its folds before being immersed in a bath of molten wax. This process transforms the paper, giving it a new set of material properties. It becomes more flexible and durable, develops a plastic-like appearance, and gains a degree of transparency.

The resulting material opens up a wide range of possibilities. By incorporating elements of wood or metal, new relationships between materials emerge, creating opportunities for innovative objects and furniture. Acting as a second skin, the waxed paper wraps around existing structures, transforming their appearance and exploring new ways in which materials can interact.
